Apple’s got a new version of its OS X for Macbook laptops and desktops, and even though some techies are referring to it as an ‘evolutionary’ upgrade, we’ve got some fun tricks for you to try.
The upgrade includes more than 200 features, so we really struggled to narrow it down to our top 6, but here they are, just for you:
Your notifications have gone interactive! Hover over the notification bubble that pops up and you can choose how to respond – email or FaceTime.
What’s draining your battery? Now you can finally figure it out – simply tap the battery icon in the top right corner of the screen and select “Apps Using Significant Energy” – a list of apps sucking up your battery energy will appear so you can shut them down, or delete them all together.
Never forget your log-in again! Store your usernames and passwords in iCloud Keychain – it’ll then auto fill your info whenever you access a website. Of course, there are risks with this method – especially if your phone gets lost or stolen. BullGuard can help with that – check out BullGuard Mobile Security and keep your identity and data cyber secure day and night.
Operating between multiple screens? Mavericks is awesome for that, the new multiple display feature is really helpful in instances where you want to watch let’s say an online class on one screen and take notes on the other. Multitask with Mavericks!
This is perhaps the biggest addition to the Maverick OS X upgrade. Until now, iBooks has not been a part of Mac desktops and laptops. Use your existing iBooks account and get more books on your computer!
Checking out maps on your computer before heading out? Now you can send the directions to your phone, so you can keep track of your progress to your destination on your phone.
Don’t ignore that OS X Updates Available box that keeps appearing in the top right hand corner of your screen! Give Mavericks a go – and try out tricks.
