There are always a lot of rumors around a new Apple product launch, so we’ve done the digging for you. Here’s what we’ve managed to found out so far.
The new iPhone 5 comes with some cool new features and operating system:
- Slimmer design. 18% thinner and 20% lighter than the iPhone 4S and made of aluminium and glass
- 4” retina display. View your content on a bigger screen
- A6 chip. Performance at twice the speed
- iSight. Camera now shoots panorama
- iOS 6. An impressively upgraded mobile operating system
iOS 6 is perhaps the best thing about the new iPhone 5… Siri has expanded her knowledge to everything from booking restaurants to sports scores. The new “Do Not Disturb” mode, when set, receives messages silently and without the screen glowing, an especially great function for all those teenage texting drivers out there. You can also set reminders to call people back, or reject a call with a message saying you’re busy, or are on the way home. Passbook is another great new app, it allows you to carry all of your tickets electronically in your phone. The tickets also automatically update themselves, so you don’t have to worry about missing the announcement about the change in your departure gate at the airport. And if all of that doesn’t make your life so much easier, iOS 6 Maps has integrated with Yelp to not only provide you with beautiful maps, Siri led navigation and traffic updates, but also with reviews of establishments in your area.
So, should you get the new iPhone 5? At BullGuard, we vote a resounding yes. While some of the changes may seem superficial, there’s no doubt in our minds that this will be the fastest phone out there. They’ve even gone so far as to re-engineer their headphones, so expect some awesome sound as well. BUT, before you go out and buy your new favorite toy, make sure you back up your current phone first, to ensure all of the content that you love makes it over to your new phone.
Try BullGuard Mobile Backup to help you with the backup process and ensure that you won’t lose any of your valuable data in the switch over. It’s super easy, and we’ve even got the BullGuard Support Team for you to help you, via Live Chat or e-mail.
The real question isn’t whether you should get one, but whether you’ll be ordering it in White or Black. Tell us!
